Elon Musk hints at advanced AI chatbot Grok-1.5 with enhanced programming and mathematical abilities

Published:

Elon Musk announced the upcoming release of an upgraded version of xAI’s chatbot Grok next week.

This news was shared via Musk’s social media post on March 29, following xAI’s blog post about Grok-1.5.

The enhanced AI chatbot will first be available to early testers and existing Grok users on social media platforms.

Additionally, Musk hinted at Grok 2, which he believes will exceed current AI standards.

Grok-1.5

Grok-1.5 is an advanced version of the Grok-1 AI model with improved reasoning and a context length of 128,000 tokens.

According to xAI’s analysis, Grok-1.5 shows significant performance improvements in coding and math-related tasks but lags behind Google’s Gemini Pro 1.5 and OpenAI’s GPT-4.

The firm reported that Grok-1.5 achieved significant scores on various benchmarks, demonstrating its abilities in math and problem-solving tasks.

Grok-1.5 can process information from longer documents and handle complex prompts as its context window expands while maintaining instruction-following capabilities.

Grok is Open-source

Recently, xAI open-sourced the base code of Grok-1 in response to legal action against OpenAI by Musk.

xAI stated that the released model was from the pre-training phase and is licensed under Apache License 2.0.
