Aave Labs has unveiled its ambitious strategic roadmap for 2030, introducing a host of key initiatives, including the rollout of Aave V4, a fresh visual identity, and an expansion of DeFi functionalities.
The “Temp Check” proposal, available at this link, seeks input from the Aave community on proposed enhancements to propel the Aave protocol forward.
Aave V4
The cornerstone of the plan is the launch of Aave V4, which will enhance the protocol’s user interface significantly and broaden its capabilities across various blockchain networks.
The latest version introduces a Cross-Chain Liquidity Layer (CCLL) to facilitate smooth asset transfers between supported chains, boosting Aave’s operational flexibility.
Additionally, Aave aims to incorporate Real World Assets (RWAs) with its native stablecoin, GHO, in partnership with Chainlink. This integration is designed to diversify the protocol’s asset pool and stabilize GHO’s utility for day-to-day transactions.
The roadmap outlines a three-year development timeline. Aave Labs intends to regularly engage with the community through feedback sessions and annual reviews to ensure the project aligns with community expectations and evolving market conditions.
Aave Labs also proposes transitioning from a retroactive to a proactive funding model via a transparent budgeting process that requires community approval before project initiation. The proposed budget includes 15 million GHO and 25,000 stkAAVE for research, development, and security audits in the first year.
Updated Identity
Aave plans to refresh its visual identity to reflect its strategic objectives and boost brand recognition within the DeFi sector. The new design aims to convey a modern, distinctive image that aligns with Aave’s forward-thinking approach.
Aave Labs encourages broad participation from developers and community members to achieve its goals, affirming that the protocol’s governance remains decentralized. Contributors are invited to actively participate in discussions and development processes to help shape the protocol’s evolution.
Following community feedback, Aave Labs will refine and integrate the input into the official Aave Governance Framework for final approval. The relevant documentation for this proposal is available under the CC0 license, fostering open collaboration and widespread contribution.
